Superhero Birthday Party

It’s a bird. It’s a plane, it's a lighting bolt. It’s the Superhero Party!
With our printables, you won't need any super powers to throw a SUPER party .... just a few snipping skills with scissor and papers

Great Ideas for Food decoration
  • Emblem Sandwiches and Burgers: Use specialty cookie cutters, such as a diamond (Superman), bat (batman), lightning bold (Flash), etc...
  • Super Power Sticks: Write a sign on a dish that says "For Super X-Ray Vision" and put inside sliced Carrots. "For Super Strength" use celery. And so on. Suddenly the veggies aren't what they used to be.
  • Radioactive Spiders: Oval-shaped sandwiches with vegetable stick legs and olive eyes.
  • Green Goblin guacamole (serve with red tortilla chips)
  • Transforming Drink Superheroes are always transforming back and forth. Prepare colored ice cubes beforehand with colored fruit juice, concentrate, or by adding a few drops of food coloring to each compartment before placing the tray in the freezer. Then, when you put the colored ice cubes in a clear drink like Sprite, it suddenly transforms into that color.

Superhero Games

  • X-ray Vision Game
Put all kinds of items in a box and let the kids (who have something covering their eyes) identify them without sight, only touch or smell. This can get very funny when you put all kinds of silly things in the box, for instance if you put half of a tomato and you stick one of the kid's fingers in it. Be creative, this can be one of the most hilarious kid party game ideas during your party!

  • Kryptonite Toss
Take many buckets and cover them in tinfoil as if they were planets. The "kryptonite" are ping pong balls painted bright green. Have the kids throw the "kryptonite" into the "planets" and see how many they can throw in, every time throwing from a tougher distance.

  • Superhero Obstacle Course
For this kid party game, get your Superhero guests to save the world by going through an action hero obstacle course. Set up an obstacle course around your yard or inside your home using cardboard boxes, old tires, bicycles, ropes, sports equipment, trampolines, basketball and hula hoops, pillows or anything you can find to create a challenging course.
You can have challenges like ball throwing, long jump, balance beam walking, climbing, crawling through a tube, running faster than a speeding bullet, bouncing a super ball very high, jumping off a chair, leaping over tall buildings (sofas), etc. When the course is complete, have a prize ready and even a certificate saying that they have successfully completed Superhero training.

Great Ideas for the Menu
  • One of the reasons The Very Hungry Caterpillar makes for a great party theme is that the story provides a starting point for a cute menu.
  • Chocolate cake is one of the foods the caterpillar eats in the story. Cupcakes are also mentioned, so this can be a good alternative for your party. If you decide to serve cupcakes, arrange them to look like a green caterpillar cupcake cake.
  • Small sandwiches made with salami and Swiss cheese will keep guests from being overloaded with sugar.
  • For a hungry little caterpillar party, it's also a cute idea to consider having a fruit tray with all of the goodies the caterpillar eats as part of the story. Surround apples, pears, strawberries, plums, oranges, and watermelon with a bed of fresh green leaves.
  • The wide variety of foods that make an appearance in The Very Hungry Caterpillar can be a great starting point for a fruit salad and more.
  • A Grape caterpillars: with Green Grape and Cherry, used a 6 inch wooden skewer and slid green grapes all the way down, leaving room just for the cherry on the end.

Ideas for Party Decoration

  • You can decorate for your party by making your own very hungry caterpillar from large pom poms. Surround your plush caterpillar toy with play food, balloons, and streamers that pick up all of the vibrant colors used in Eric Carle's distinctive illustrations.
  • A caterpillar balloons attached together. Twist and turn them to either hang upwards or downwards, and then i used a small piece of double sided tape to stick the balloons together.
